CYBERTRONIAN RUSTY RIVET
It’s just a fun name for a Rusty Nail, which seemed like a fairly obvious choice for this episode.
· 2 oz. (60 ml) scotch
· ¾ oz. (22.5 ml) Drambuie
· 1 dash Angostura bitters
· Garnish: 1 lemon twist
o Stir all ingredients over ice
o Strain into a double rocks glass over 1 large ice cube
o Garnish with lemon twist
Drambuie is a golden 80-proof liqueur made from scotch whiskey, honey, herbs and spices. According to cocktail historian David Wondrich, this cocktail first appears in 1937, but took a generation or so for the drink to assume its classic name and form, further popularized in the 60s as one of the Rat Pack’s favorite drinks.
Our general manager at Twin Oaks Country Club used to like having these at parties. I remember he once told me they named it a “Rusty Nail” because that’s what feels like is imbedded your temple the next day.
