When Chandler purchased this Joepisode his cocktail suggestion was, “Something with Rumplemintz.” Which is a 100 proof peppermint schnapps. Which is a very specific flavor, obviously. I looked on my spreadsheet and I can’t believe we haven’t had this one yet, but I don’t think we have. Today we’re enjoying the:
PEPPERMINT PATTY
This is a cold version of the usual hot chocolate drink.
1 oz. (30 ml) Rumplemintz
1 ½ oz. (45 ml) creme de cacao
¾ oz. (22 ml) coffee liqueur
Now, I used Allen’s Cold Brew, which is pretty dry, similar to Mr. Black, so if you use Kahlua or Kamora this drink is going to be much sweeter. And then I garnished it with a little fresh grated nutmeg. Garnish with a mint sprig and maybe a candy cane.
Shake all ingredients in a shaker with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass.
The better-known hot version is similar, but like equal parts Rumplemintz, and creme de cacao, and then filled with hot cocoa and topped with whipped cream.
