This is a terrible trailer. But it’s the only one I could find. This film is amazing. It won Best Picture, Director, Actor, and Adapted Screenplay. We give it the APDC highest recommendaion!

There’s no reason I picked this cocktail other than it’s kind of a variation on one my favorites. It’s basically a sideways daiquiri. Today we have:

THE AIRMAIL

There’s no definitive history on this cocktail, though it’s safe to say it had to be created after the advent of aviation. Probably sometime shortly after the end of Prohibition. That goddamn dark Volstead decade. Airmail at the time was the fastest means of international communication, as phone service across borders was relatively rare. There’s a theory that it was invented in Cuba, which tracks, not only because of the ingredients, but also due to Prohibition Cuba greatly benefited from cocktail culture from American tourists, and regular airmail was established between Cuba and the US in 1930. The Airmail cocktail appeared in Bacardi advertising for the first time around then.

For this drink you will need:

·         1 oz. (30 ml) Bacardi white rum

·         ½ oz. (15 ml) lime juice

·         ½ oz. honey syrup

o   Honey syrup is made like simple syrup, with 2 parts honey to 1 part water

o   It’s an easy was to make pourable honey that easily incorporates into cocktails

·         Dry champagne or sparkling wine

·         Shake all ingredients except the champagne with ice

·         Strain into a flute and top with champagne

·         No garnish, unless you wanna be fancy and cool, you could affix a stamp to the rim. That would be pretty righteous. Like a cool vintage stamp. But you guys don’t get that. What am I, made of money?
