We have another BUAD cocktail for this one! From our most frequent participant, and they asked if we could have it on our next Joepisode. That’s right, it’s a Bryan Jones original! We have:
THE CAPTAIN KANGAROO
This is a type of Boilermaker drink. In America, there are two types of Boilermakers, and it traces its origins back to miners in Butte, Montana, in the 1890s. It’s a shot of whiskey and a pint of beer. One method is to shoot the whiskey and chase it with beer, which you then drink normally. The other is to mix the two by dropping the shot into the beer, which is the method Bryan outlines here. But instead of whiskey, we have:
1 oz. (30 ml) Captain Morgan’s rum
8 oz. (240 ml) of Foster’s beer
Pour the beer into a glass and drop in the shot.
As to the creation of this drink, Bryan says, “Captain Morgan, Foster’s is Australian for beer, Australia has kangaroos, thus Captain Kangaroo. This was invented from reverse engineering and coming up with funny names. If possible, put it on the next Dough for Joe episode.”
It’s a pretty clever name.
So thank you Bryan for buying us a drink, and if you, listener, would like to BUAD, just send 5 doll hairs to ApodDcast on PayPal, tell me in the notes what you’d like me to make and I will make that cocktail on a future episode because I cannot make it on a past one.
