THE KREMZEEK WHITE LADY (1919 style)
I “themed” this cocktail, to the extent that I put the name of the episode in it, and the drink is kinda yellow, like the character.
This recipe was created by Harry MacElhone at the Ciro’s Club in London in 1919. I say, “the 1919 version,” because the same guy made another drink by the same name with a different recipe entirely in 1929.
· 1 oz. (30 ml) lemon juice
· 1 oz. crème de menthe
· 1 oz. triple sec
· Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe
· Garnish with a lemon twist
This is a bracing, tart drink. “Refreshing,” to steal your word, Caleb. This would be an excellent aperitif for, say, a Memorial Day cookout. It’s Memorial Day when we’re recording this. Also, it’s fucking cold. And now we’ve covered the Old Man Weather Corner portion of the show.
This drink makes you think of a little electricity demon, right?
